I dunno. How do you know they're not lying to you? You some kinda human lie detector? Or you think they're just grateful you only gave 'em serious injuries instead of putting them out of their misery?

Something like that. Trust me, I can tell. [It's why he knew that Frank means every single thing he said to him. Probably one of the most honest men he's ever met.] Maybe. You'd be surprised what that gets you.

[If he operated like Frank, Turk would've been dead a long time ago even though he's at the bottom of the criminal food chain. Finding and stopping Frank would've been a hell of a lot harder without sources like Turk still alive and breathing]

[That's a sore point, by the way. It's not as if Matt makes a habit of going up to his potential clients asking "by the way, have you killed anyone?" and listening to see if they're lying]
